The truth about Tibet

It's enough!! I can't stand it anymore. Tens of men were chasing and beating one woman on the street. Looting shops, burning  cars, houses, breaking into banks.  What happened in recent days in Tibet, are not protests anymore, those rioters are not ordinary people, them are criminals, and criminals should by no means be tolerated!!

The deniable truth in Tibet is, it has been changing since 1950, it is getting better, both in terms of people's standard of living and levels of freedom. However, when those western politicos accuse China of depriving Tibetan people's freedom. Let me remind you that, before 1950, Tibet was NOT under democracy, but a SLAVERY system, and the leader was Lalai Lama, who has left his people bihind for 49 years by now. I just want Dalai Lama to know that, Tibet is changed, as any other place in the world, no one could stop the trend. Dalai Lama, you want Tibet to be as it was half a century ago, and keep being a slavery state, you call it Tibetan tradition, that's only your own wishful thinking, please just let it go..

I remember when I was in Tibet, about 10 year ago, China was accused of neglecting Tibet's economic development. However, today, ten years later, billions are invested in Tibet, the railway to Tibet is built,  the Tibetan economy is doing far better than 10 years ago. somehow, again China is accused of destroying Tibetan culture, since more people are traveling to or doing business in Tibet. It seems to me that according to the American standard,  China would never do anything morally right. Anyway, if the Tibetan economic prosperity is China's fault, if we are destroying Tibetan culture, what are American soldiers doing in Iraq?-- a foreign country. If ethnic Chinese should all move out of Tibet, since it  originally belonged to Tibetan alone, then, should all Americans pack up and go back to where their ancestors were come from, and return the land back to American Indians? I wonder how many American Indians are still in the US, and how many of them are still able speak their language.

Some people think Chinese invaded Tibet, because they don't know about the historical backgrounds. Mongols are those who invaded both China and Tibet hundreds years ago, however, after China defeated the Mongols, they just took over all their land, and Tibet automatically became a part of China. Same when it comes to Manchuria, Xinjiang and Taiwan. Xijiang Taiwan and China were all conquered by Manchus, and Manchu then gradually got assimilated by Chinese culture and pepole. Those regions have been Chinese territory for hundreds years. It's about national pride and dignity. You may ask why does't Iran, Iraq, or Turkey give/ruturn a piece of land to the Kurds, to let them havetheir own country, or why Americans don't ruturn the land back to those aborigines, before asking China the same question though.

However, despite of few hundreds of criminals, the majority of Tibetans are good-hearted, I never denied that. I am telling everything I have seen, based on my own experiences. I have Tibetan, as well as Han friends living in Lhasa. My friend told me that they feel like living in Iraq now. I am worried about them, I am infuriated by the brutalities, not the whole ethnic group. When everyone is chanting globalization, migration, integration etc, why do some people still suppose Chinese can't get along with Tibetans?

I still remember that, it was 1997, When Tibet was engulfed by snowstroms. Who were there helping them? Those who sacrificed their lives to protect Tibetan people's properties were no one but Han soldiders. I can still find one who lost both his legs in that snowstorms in Tibet, what do you think he was doing there?  He was saving Tiebtans people, and even yaks' lives. Tibetan people were so grateful, they cried, they wanted to give the only thing they had to those soliders. I saw it through my own eyes, not read from a novel, let alone from a hypocritical profit-driven  media. i still strongly believe that the majority Tibetan did not join those shop-sacking rioters. Those who were helped in the snowstroms still remember that, they would not do it.

In case if any country doesn't call sacking shops, burning cars are crimes, I will make sure to keep an eye on their country, see how do they tackle violent crimes, what's the meaning of law and order in their beloved homeland. How do they react when their family members and friends are endangered by violence. Well.. check this out: " In the US, over 2.3 million people were being held this year, more than 1% of the adult population behind bars."(http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7270607.stm)

In any case, I would like to tell the Chinese government that, " Yes, we are peace-loving people, We should be tolerable. But since soooo many people are using Olympics to make troubles to China. If we have to give up Olympics to maintain entity and dignity, then let it be!! Be nice, but for those who are challenging our dignity, please don't hesitate to teach them a lesson.
